In addition to providing immediate response to victims and significant others, AMHC Sexual Assault advocates offer support and special recovery groups for victims. †They are trained in how to navigate the system and are available to provide education and training about personal body safety, bullying prevention, sexual harassment prevention, healthy relationships, campus safety, and technology safety to schools, health and social service providers, and community groups.

To promote a victim-centered response to sexual assault victims, in each county AMHC leads Sexual Assault Response Teams (SART) comprised of first responders and advocates who assist victims of sexual assault. Specifically, SART is comprised of victims and victim rights advocates, law enforcement officials, medical professionals, and legal professionals.†

AMHC is a member of The Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MeCASA ) whose mission is to put an end to sexual assault and sexual abuse in Maine, and to ensure that there will be ongoing support and services for victims and survivors.

Services are financially supported by the State of Maine Department of Health and Human Services with funding provided in part by the US Department of Justice and MeCASA. For general information about service availability, visit us on Facebook or email†
