AMHC’s Emergency Services Program delivers crisis services to include a Crisis HELPLine 24/7 telephone response, Crisis Mobile Resolution and Crisis Stabilization, and Crisis Stabilization Units (CSU) in Aroostook, Hancock and Washington Counties. These crisis intervention services are offered via telephone and face-to-face contact. Emergency Services specialists are available to meet with individuals, within the community at a local AMHC office, or may be requested by local medical providers to provide consultation at the local Emergency Room through the hospital. First and foremost, AMHC’s crisis staff establishes the physical and psychological safety of the individual in crisis to guard against injury and even death. AMHC crisis staff is trained to assure that the appropriate intervention considers the individual’s unique needs, circumstances, preferences and goals.
