AMHC Announces Christy Daggett as CEO


The Board of Directors for Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc. (AMHC) has announced Christy Daggett, MPP, as its new Chief Executive Officer. 


"The Board nominating committee reviewed several applicants for the CEO position, and we are pleased to announce that Christy Daggett, current AMHC Chief Financial and Administrative Officer and Interim CEO has accepted the position," shared Traci Peabody, Board Chair. "Christy is well-versed and knowledgeable about AMHC's mission and vision for the future. We are excited and look forward to working with her and her team to move AMHC forward and grow in the behavioral health industry." 


As CEO, Christy will oversee the agency's mission in conformance with AMHC's service philosophy, organizational values, strategic vision, and the policies the Board of Directors has established. "I am honored to have been asked to fill this role and to be able to work every day with the 350+ staff of AMHC," said Christy. "Our committed, altruistic staff are truly the greatest asset the agency has to offer our communities." 


Christy is an accomplished public policy and nonprofit executive with a Master of Public Policy and Management from the Muskie School of Public Service. She is a skilled leader and communicator with extensive experience in rural economic development, public health, and workforce training. Christy has successfully led multi-million-dollar initiatives, overseen complex grant programs, and collaborated with local, state, and federal partners. She is a trusted voice in public policy, a frequent speaker and media guest, and an active community leader serving on several regional boards.

AMHC’s Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit (ACSU) serves as a lighthouse for adults in behavioral health crisis, offering 24/7, short-term, voluntary support in a safe setting. Through therapy, staff guidance, and skill building, individuals regain stability, strengthen coping skills, and prepare to return home with a plan.
