AMHC Promotes Lori Deschaine to Chief Operating Officer
AMHC is proud to announce that Lori Deschaine has been appointed as the organization’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Deschaine brings more than 25 years of dedicated service to AMHC, having worked in a variety of roles since joining the organization in 1998. She began her career as a residential staff person at the Aroostook Academy Group Home and has since advanced through positions of increasing responsibility, including therapist, program director, and most recently, overseer of AMHC’s Children’s Advocacy Centers in Aroostook and Downeast. Under her leadership, these centers earned accreditation from the National Children’s Alliance, a testament to her commitment to high standards of care and advocacy for children and families.
“I am excited to see what this new role brings,” said Deschaine. “AMHC is my home, and I am honored to be stepping into a senior leadership position here.”
AMHC CEO Christy Daggett shared her confidence in the appointment: “Given Lori’s strong clinical background and her experience leading staff across multiple counties and navigating complex accreditation processes, I have no doubt she will excel as COO.”
Deschaine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science from the University of Maine at Fort Kent and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of New England. She continues to bring a deep understanding of community mental health and a collaborative spirit to her work across Aroostook, Washington, and Hancock counties.
AMHC congratulates Lori on her well-deserved promotion and looks forward to her leadership in advancing the organization’s mission to improve the well-being of individuals, families, and communities throughout Northern and Eastern Maine.
