AMHC Welcomes Two New Psychiatric Medication Providers

AMHC is pleased to welcome two new Psychiatric Medication Managers to the agency, expanding access to psychiatric medication management and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services across the region.

Allison Shaffer is based through telehealth at AMHC’s Machias Outpatient office and will serve clients in both Hancock and Washington counties. Justin Lutterman is based at AMHC’s Caribou Outpatient office and will serve clients in Aroostook County.

Psychiatric Medication Managers support the delivery of psychiatric medication management and MAT services through medication clinics offered across AMHC’s service system. These clinics provide access to care for adults experiencing mental health and/or substance use disorders.

Shaffer will also offer same-day access to MAT services in Aroostook, Hancock, and Washington counties. “To me, working in mental health means creating a safe space where every person feels heard, valued, and supported,” she said. “I am grateful to be a part of the AMHC team, where I can partner with individuals and families as they work toward recovery and improved well-being. Working at AMHC allows me to serve my community with compassion, respect, and a commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.”

Lutterman shared a similar commitment to community-based care. “I went into medicine because of my passion for rural health care and helping people,” he said. “I am excited for the opportunity to serve the people of Aroostook County and bring more services into the community.”

To get connected with same-day MAT access, please call 1-800-244-6431. The addition of these providers supports AMHC’s commitment to offering a continuum of care through its Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) system. By expanding psychiatric medication management services, AMHC continues to strengthen access to coordinated, compassionate care for individuals and families throughout our community.
