AMHC Welcomes Therapist Kayla Henson to Madawaska Team

AMHC is excited to welcome Kayla Henson, LCSW, MSW, who has joined the Madawaska Outpatient Office as a Therapist/Consultant. With a strong background in evidence-based therapy and crisis support, Kayla will offer in-person appointments locally and telehealth services across Aroostook County to better serve the community.

Kayla will provide co-occurring mental health and substance use services, along with couples and family therapy. These services are an important part of AMHC’s outpatient offerings for both adults and children. As part of the Madawaska Outpatient team, she will work with a skilled group of clinicians to deliver compassionate, person-centered care throughout the region. AMHC’s outpatient services include mental health outpatient therapy for individuals and groups, couples and family therapy, medication management, and Employee and Student Assistance Programs (EAP and SAP). These programs are supported by CCBHC Care Coordination, ensuring that every person and family receives personalized attention from assessment and care planning to connection with additional resources.

Kayla earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Denver and her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Utah. She has provided mental health services in Maine, Minnesota, and Utah, bringing valuable experience to AMHC. “Kayla brings several years of mental health professional practice to AMHC,” said AMHC CEO Christy Daggett. “She is trained in different evidence-based therapy modalities and has experience providing support during on-call crisis situations. We are pleased to have her join our Madawaska Outpatient team.”

Reflecting on her new role, Kayla shared, “I am passionate about providing empathetic support and high-quality services. AMHC offers the integrity, compassion, and collaboration I am seeking and a place where I can continue to develop both personally and professionally.”
