AMHC Highlights SUD Services During Recovery Month

MHC is proud to join communities nationwide in recognizing National Recovery Month this September. This observance celebrates the power of recovery, raises awareness about substance use disorders (SUD), and honors the individuals, families, and providers who make recovery possible.

Recovery is REAL

This year’s theme, “Recovery is REAL (Restoring Every Aspect of Life),” emphasizes that recovery is not only about overcoming substance use challenges but also about restoring balance and meaning. The four dimensions of recovery: health, home, purpose, and community which serve as the foundation for living a fulfilling life.

  • Health: Treatment and recovery services help individuals strengthen both mind and body.
  • Home: A safe and supportive living environment provides stability and fosters healing.
  • Purpose: Having goals, responsibilities, and opportunities to grow brings resilience and joy.
  • Community: A sense of belonging reminds us that no one walks the recovery journey alone.

AMHC’s Role in Recovery

AMHC provides a full continuum of prevention, treatment, crisis, and recovery services for individuals and families impacted by substance use and mental health challenges. Our programs connect people to evidence-based treatment, peer recovery support, and community resources that promote long-term wellness.

Educating the Community

While AMHC delivers direct services, ShareFactsSaveLives.org serves as a public education hub. The website offers tools, resources, and information to help reduce stigma, prevent substance use, and guide individuals and families toward treatment and recovery support. Together, these efforts ensure that both personal care and community awareness are strengthened.

How You Can Help

  • Educate Yourself: Learn about SUD and how it affects individuals, families, and communities.
  • Participate in Events: Join local workshops, events, and observances that promote recovery.
  • Spread Awareness: Share accurate information and encourage others to seek support.
